 FAQ

TOP 7 QUESTIONS WE HEAR FROM PATIENTS
Where are operations performed?

Many minimally invasive (percutaneous) endovascular procedures may be performed in the office. Open surgical and minimally invasive (percutaneous) procedures that require hospital resources are performed at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Palos Hospital in Palos Heights, and Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Where are vein procedures performed?

Most vein procedures are done in the office and patients are able to go home within an hour after the procedure.

When can I get back to work?

This depends on the type of surgery performed and the reason for the operation. Ask your surgeon for more information about your expected recovery.

What testing is required?

Depending on the vascular disease, you may need to undergo ultrasound, CT scan ("CAT scan", computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), or angiography. Some combination of these tests is usually needed to establish a diagnosis and monitor the disease or the repair of the problem.

Do I need surgery?

Not all blockages and vascular conditions require surgery. However, many do. Your surgeon has the experience and expertise to help make the decision for surgery and which type of operation or procedure is best for each individual patient. Often times there is a minimally invasive option for treatment, sometimes on an outpatient basis!

Where can I park?

We conveniently have a very large, free, beautiful parking lot in the front of our office, including accessible parking spots.
